There is a great campground near Fayette,
Ohio called
Harrison Lake State Park. We would camp there quite a bit through
the last 10 or 15 years and as we approached the entrance to the park we
would slow to take a long gaze at an abandoned farm house. A few times we
would stop and walk around the property imagining what it must have been in
its day. It must have been beautiful because the beauty is still evident
today.
Some time ago I found two windows curbside at site where a renovation had
replaced the old Queen Anne style with a more modern plastic look. I had
always thought I would paint something on the windows but never settled on
an appropriate subject. That was, until I came across some photos we took of
the majestic old structure. It was the centurion that had watched us
drive by all those years on our way to the campground.
The match was complete. |
