"Doc Elliot"
48 x 48 inches oil on canvas
Doc Elliot had his fill of patchin' up the men that suffered such
horrible injuries during the
Civil War. He saw nothing civil about it. When the war ended he
headed out to Colorado
and found himself a small ranch there in the quiet wilderness. A
stream full of trout running
through the length of his land kept him pleasantly occupied most of
his days. On occasion,
a wagon might pull up with someone looking for help with a busted
arm or a small child
burning a fever, and Doc would have his "doctorin' bag" ready for
just the cause. All the Doc ever
took in return was a handshake; although there was an exchange of
biscuits and pies now and again. |
