Oil on textured canvas 50" X 36"
Ten Bear was named so because he was "as strong as 10 bears".
He did no go peacefully and stood strong along with Crazy Horse
fighting long and hard for the Indian cause.
Soon his name became to mean "Meaner than 10 Grizzly bears". He was
big Indian, bigger than most, and yet he would appear and disappear
without sound or direction, with
impeccable timing and speed. There is no history of his demise, nor
capture. Ten Bear simply disappeared once
more into the wilderness never to be seen again.
